Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains how personal data is handled when you use klavye.tech. The data controller is klavye.tech (iletisim@klavye.tech). This policy is written to be consistent with Turkey’s Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK). For the full Turkish notice, see the Personal Data Protection Notice page.

In short

• There are no accounts, sign-ups or logins.
• Your lesson progress and preferences stay in your browser and are not sent to us.
• Server and security logs, such as IP addresses, are processed to run the site safely.
• Analytics and advertising cookies are set only if you consent.
• If you press Share on a result, an anonymous set of typing measurements is stored.

Use without an account and local storage

The site has no user accounts, registration forms or login system. Your lesson progress, stars, practice streaks, theme and language choices are stored only in your own browser’s local storage (localStorage). This data is not sent to us and we do not use it to build a personal profile. You can export your progress as a code and import it on another device. Clearing the site data in your browser deletes it.

Information we process and why

Server and security logs

Like every web server, the site runs on hosting provided by Netlify, Inc. In that process, your IP address and request logs are processed. We keep these logs to keep the site secure, prevent misuse and keep it running. Domain name (DNS) services are provided by Cloudflare.

Analytics

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used and to improve the lessons. Google Consent Mode v2 applies, so analytics cookies are only set when you consent. IP anonymization is built into GA4.

Advertising

The site may show Google AdSense advertisements. Google and its partners may use cookies to serve and measure ads. Visitors from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a Google-certified consent message, and personalized ads are shown only where that consent is given. Sensitive ad categories are blocked because this is a family-friendly site.

Shared results

If you press Share after a typing test, the result is stored under a random short ID on the storage service of our hosting provider (Netlify Blobs). The stored record includes words per minute, accuracy, raw speed, consistency, test mode and duration, language, the per-second speed chart data, and the date and time. It does not include your name, email address or any other personal data. Shared result pages are not indexed by search engines.

Contact messages

If you email us, we process your email address and the content of your message to reply. Emails are forwarded through Cloudflare Email Routing.

Transfers outside your country

Our service providers, including Netlify (United States), Google (United States and other countries) and Cloudflare, may process data on servers outside Turkey and the EEA. Where data is transferred, it is done under the safeguards required by applicable law.

How long we keep data

• Progress and preferences stay in your browser until you clear its site data.
• Analytics cookies last up to 2 years. Advertising cookies last up to 13 months.
• Shared result records are kept until you ask us to delete them.
• Server logs and email correspondence are kept only as long as needed for the purpose they serve, then deleted or anonymized.

Children

The site is written for a general audience and is family-friendly. It is not directed specifically at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Children should use the site with a parent’s or teacher’s guidance. If you believe a child has sent us personal data, email iletisim@klavye.tech and we will delete it promptly.

Your rights

Under GDPR, visitors from the European Economic Area have the right to access, correct and delete their personal data, restrict or object to its processing, receive their data in a portable format, and withdraw consent at any time. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To use these rights, write to iletisim@klavye.tech. Visitors in Turkey can use the rights described in the Turkish KVKK Notice.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last updated. If a change is significant, we will make it clearly visible on the site.
