Week 9: Punctuation
Turkish F keyboard course. 24 wpm, 93% accuracy.
This week you do not learn any new keys. You practice the punctuation marks you met in week 7, this time inside full sentences. Periods, commas, colons, semicolons and greater-than signs shape the rhythm of a text. Typing them in the right place with the right finger keeps your sentences clean and your speed steady.
What you will learn
There are no new keys this week. Here are the punctuation keys to review:
.: right ring. With Shift, it gives:.,: right pinky. With Shift, it gives;.<: left pinky. With Shift, it gives>.
Shift is always pressed with the pinky of the opposite hand. So for : and ;, press Shift with your left pinky. For >, press Shift with your right pinky. AltGr is the right Alt key, pressed with the right thumb. You will use it in week 12, so keep its position in mind.
Technique tips
- After a period, bring your fingers back to the home row before the next word starts.
- Type commas with a short, light movement of the right pinky. Keep the rest of the right hand still.
- Pause briefly at a comma instead of rushing into the next word. This keeps the rhythm of the sentence even.
- Before you type a punctuation mark, think for a moment about which finger will press it. This small pause prevents many mistakes.
- Look at the screen to check your punctuation. Do not search the keyboard for symbols.
Lessons
- Lesson 1 (10-15 minutes): Review the punctuation marks. Watch the keyboard demo, follow the finger for each mark, and type the Shift versions separately.
- Lesson 2 (10-15 minutes): Practice. Type short sentences that use periods, commas and colons, and return your fingers to the home row at the end of each sentence.
- Lesson 3 (10-15 minutes): Review and take the 2-minute test. Find the marks you got wrong and practice them in a separate round.
This week’s goal
Your targets are 24 WPM and 93% accuracy. Finishing the lessons earns 1 star. Reaching the accuracy target earns 2 stars, and reaching the speed target in the closing test earns 3 stars. Clean punctuation matters more than speed right now. Type each mark with its finger in mind, and the speed will come as your rhythm settles.
New keys this week
The colored keys are the ones you learn this week. The color shows which finger presses the key.
