Week 16: Final week
QWERTY touch typing course. 40 wpm, 96% accuracy.
This last week brings together everything you learned in the course. You do not learn a new key. Instead you review the full keyboard, from the home row through the top and bottom rows, the numbers, the symbols and the longer texts. The goal is to keep your finger positions steady across every drill and to stay calm during the final test.
What you will learn
No new keys appear this week. To plan your practice, ask yourself these questions:
- Which keys still feel slow? Practice those first.
- Which fingers make the most mistakes? Check that they return to their home keys after each press.
- Are the punctuation, numbers and symbols accurate? Slowing down in these sections is the right strategy.
When you finish the final test, you can look at your results on klavye.tech. Read the accuracy and the speed together rather than focusing on only one of them.
Technique tips
- Before each session, place your hands on the home row and relax your shoulders. A steady start supports a long practice.
- When a key feels hard, move that finger slowly and then return it to the home row.
- During the final test, do not panic. If you make a mistake, bring the finger straight back to its home key and keep typing.
- Warm up for a few minutes before the test by typing short sentences. This prepares your fingers and your attention.
Lessons
- Lesson 1, learn (10–15 minutes): Review the hardest keys and words from earlier weeks. Type each one slowly and check the finger that owns it.
- Lesson 2, practice (10–15 minutes): Work through paragraphs and mixed texts. Keep accuracy as your first priority.
- Lesson 3, review (10–15 minutes): Finish with the 2-minute test. Look at your result, then note which keys gave you the most trouble.
This week’s goal
Reach 40 WPM and 96% accuracy. Finishing the lessons earns 1 star. Reaching 96% accuracy earns 2 stars. Reaching 40 WPM as well earns 3 stars. By the end of this course, your best results should come from a balance of accuracy and speed. Be proud of the steady practice you have built along the way.
This week’s lessons
Do the lessons in order. Each one ends with a test, and your best result is saved.
